The infrared rays interact with your body molecules, and then the molecules absorb the energy, heat up, and you feel the effects almost immediately. If you have a traditional sauna, the heat from the traditional heater can actually reach temperatures that are too high for your skin. Infrared radiation is not heat that your skin can readily absorb, but instead it is energy that your body cannot normally utilize. The infrared energy from the sauna is therefore much safer and a better alternative for your body than a traditional sauna.
